A project awarded (August 2012) by the EC to the CCBE to develop an IT platform to provide EU-wide information about lawyers’ training courses It arose from a lack of easy accessibility to information about training courses for lawyers ETP started on 1 February 2013 and will last for two years

Policy component: e.g. search fields, criteria for training providers 2. IT component: two phases: (a) building the IT platform and (b) testing phase

Council of Bars & Law Societies of Europe Conseil des barreaux européens f Rue Joseph II, 40/8 - B-1000 Brussels T.: +32 (0)2 234 65 10 - F.: +32 (0)2 234 65 11 Email: ccbe@ccbe.eu - www.ccbe.euccbe@ccbe.euwww.ccbe.eu Follow us on / Suivez-nous sur @CCBEinfo Criteria for test TPs (which are not bars) For TPs to be recognised for the purpose of ETP, at least 3 of these 6 criteria are necessary at the same time: 1.The TP is recognised in the Member State and by member Bars as an authorised training provider 2.The main purpose of the TP is to train lawyers and/or lawyers and other legal professionals. 3.In principle, the training provided by the TP is open to all lawyers (i.e. not only to members of a specific Member State, organisation or other closed group). 4.The TP offers a good selection of courses on different practice areas of law, including EU and comparative law. 5.The TP offers training during the whole year (i.e. it is a permanent training institution). 6.The TP is well-known, and information about the courses it offers reaches a large number of lawyers (i.e. the TPs publish information about their training courses on their websites, in law magazines etc.).
