Overview The Americas Aerospace Quality Group (AAQG) is a cooperative organization within the Aviation, Space and Defense industries in the Americas The AAQG is a committee of the SAE International Industries Technology Consortia. There are currently 21 organizations with voting membership within the AAQG. There is provision for 25 voting members.

Fall Meeting AAQG met in Seattle, Washington on September 19-20, 2013 Brian Hughitt made compelling argument for AS9003 – “Quality System for the small guy” – Is it better that we define the minimum requirements for small organizations or let the supplier tailor 9100 on their own? DCMA and FAA engagement enjoyed at this meeting

Fall Meeting Counterfeit Parts presented and discussed. Current Standards: – AS5553 – For users of Electronics – AS6174 – For users of materials – AS6081 – Distributors/Brokers of Electronics – AS696 - Authorized Distributors – AS6171 – Test Labs for Electronics Is something more required in our certification scheme to ensure the correct procedures are in place?

AAB & TPAB Capacity Work to add Auditor Authentication Body (AAB) and Training Provider Approval Body (TPAB) capacity AAQG and RMC entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with SAE International on October 1, 2013 – SAE will create a new AAB / TPAB entity – New entity will be affiliated with and supported by SAE International – Organized as an organization within the SAE Industry Technologies Consortia – Expect the new AAB/TPAB entity to be operational within 6 months
