1. A Beautiful Day 1. Over the hill and by the stream is the prettiest place to sit and dream. The sky so blue and the grass so green, on a beautiful day like today. 2.Come see the Tortoise and the Hare, see the birds of the forest, and the Bear, the Fox, the Woodchuck, come see the Mare

“Oh, what a beautiful day to laugh and to play, a beautiful day.”
Chorus – Oh, what a beautiful day. Listen to me as I say, “Oh, what a beautiful day to laugh and to play, a beautiful day.” 3. All of the creatures in the trees, they knew of the Hare who liked to tease, and how the Tortoise did love to please, on a beautiful day like today.

2. Will Anybody Dare? In case you are trying to figure out how this song works, Grade divides into two parts for some of this song. When this happens, Diggs and McKerracher sing first, and then Otterness and Rausch echo. Sometimes, the entire grade sings together. For most of the song, the small groups sing a few measures, and the entire grade echoes the last part.

4. Race Duet 1st group: Run, run, run, run, run.
We like to run, run, run, run, run. It is lots and lots of fun. It’s fun to run, run, run, run, run. Watch him hop, hop hop, hop, hop. He never, never, ever stops. Watch him hop, and hop, an drun. It can be lots and lots of fun.

2nd group: Slow and steady, that’s his style. Though it stakes him quite a while. Watch him pass and see him smile.

(grade divides in half – Diggs and McKerracher sing sing the fast part, while Otterness and Rausch sing the slower part) Slow— Fast – Slow and steady, Run, run, run, run, run. that’s his style. We like to run, run, run, run, run. Though it stakes him It is lots and lots of fun. It’s fun to run, run, run, run, run. quite a whil. Watch him hop, hop hop, hop, hop. Watch him pass and see him smile. He never, never, ever stops. Watch him hop, and hop, and run. It can be lots and lots of fun.

5. Lullaby 1 – fell the breeze ‘neath the trees,
Such a soft spot for sleeping. Close your eyes from the sun, For the race is nearly won. Refrain -- Mister Hare, not a care, as you drift off to dreamland. Go to sleep, slumber deep; soon you’ll run across the stream.

6. A Great Day For a Race(Finale)
1. Mister Tortoise won the race. Mister Hare has finished in last place. You can bet Mister Tortoise will set the pace. Slow and steady wins the race. 2. Mister Tortoise give a cheer. Mister Hare might want to disappear, For the end of our show now is drawing near, And the moral is quite clear Slow and steady, slow and steady, slow and steady Wins the race!
