2  All the nouns in Arabic are either Masculine or Feminine.

3  Each Noun in Arabic is of Specific Quantity, meaning its either  Singular :  When its ONE only  Dual :  When its exactly TWO  Plural:  When its THREE or MORE

4  Singular واحد (wahid)  Dual تثنيه (Tathniyah)  Plural جمع (jam’ )

5  It is formed by Adding following suffixes to the original noun  Alif and Noon ﺍﻥ  Ya and Noon ين  Examples : الْمَلَكَيْنِ - شَهِيدَيْنِ – امْرَأَتَانِ

6 SingularDualMeaning الْمَلَكَالْمَلَكَيْنِ The two Angels شَهِيدَِشَهِيدَيْنِ Two witnesses رَجُلَرَجُلَانِ Two men سَاحِرسَاحِرَانِ Two magicians الْبَحْرالْبَحْرَيْنِ Two seas فَرِيقفَرِيقَانِ Two groups

7  Two Types of Plural 1. Sound Plural جمع سالم 2. Broken / Irregular Plural جَمِع مُکَسَر

9 Sound PluralSingularMeaning مُؤْمِنِينَمُؤْمِنِ One who believes الْفَاسِقُونَالْفَاسِق The one who cross limits الْكَافِرِينَالْكَافِرَِ The disbeliever الْمُسْلِمِينَالْمُسْلِمِ The One who submits الْمُنَافِقُونَالْمُنَافِقُ The hypocrite الصَّابِرُونَالصَّابِر The One who is patient

10 Sound PluralSingularMeaning الْمُنَافِقَاتُِالمنافقةَ The hypocrite (woman) الطَّيِّبَاتُالطيبة The one pure الْمُسْلِمَاتِ المسلمة The one who submit (woman) الْمُؤْمِنَاتِالمؤمنة The one who believe (woman) الْمُطَلَّقَاتُ الْمُطَلَّقَة The divorced woman الصَّالِحَاتُ الصَّالِحَة The righteous woman

12 Broken PluralSingularMeaning الْأَنْفُسِالَْنْفُسِ The soul / Oneself الْأَمْوَالِالْمالِ The wealth الْأُمُورِ الْأُمرِ The matter أَبْصَارَهُمْبصَرَ Sight الْأَنْهَارُالنْهَرُ The river

13  Know the singulars of nouns that will come in your lessons  How? If you see suffixes for Sound Plural Just remove them to form Singular example : الْفَاسِقُونَ  الْفَاسِق If it’s a broken Plural  Learn its singular

14  For Sound plurals 1. Just remove the suffix in case of ﻭﻥ & ين 2.In case of ﺍﺕ replace it with a ﺔ  For Broken plurals -- > learn them

15  Sometimes in case of suffix ين (sound plural) only noon is removed Example : الْمُتَّقِينَ  الْمُتَّقِ X الْمُتَّقِينَ  الْمُتَّقِي  Its very rare

16  Feminine Sound Plural :  Suffix ﺍﺕ is written both ways جَنَّـٰتٍ OR جَنَّاتٍ  Whether its with proper Alif or small Alif (Alif suqra), to make a singular replace it with a ﺔ جَنَّاتٍ  جَنَّةَ جَنَّـٰتٍ  جَنَّةَ
