Classroom Logistics O Our board configuration is on the board to your RIGHT (but greeter is shown upfront) O Your materials: Do Now and Handouts will be found in the clear trays on the black filing cabinet O Greeter, you answer the door and feed the turtle and fish.

Materials for this class O You will need to purchase a composition notebook for this class. O If this will be an issue for you, please let me know by Thursday this week. O You will be issued a paper tape measure, if you lose this you will need to get your own or a ruler for this class.

Outdoor Expectations O All living (biotic) things should be left intact and in the same or better condition than when we arrived O No Running, Climbing, or Jumping off high places. Basically no behaviors that may result in injury. O Stay with your lab partner(s) at all times O Return to meeting area on time

Outdoor Expectation Consequences 1 st Offense = 4 Demerits 2 nd Offense = Loss of outdoor privilege for 1 class period (Plus 4Ds) 3 rd Offense = Permanent Loss of outdoor privilege (Plus 4Ds)

Sooooo What is Urban Ecology Anyway? O Urban = ?? O in, relating to, or characteristic of a city or town. O Ecology = ?? O branch of biology that deals with the relations of organisms to one another and to their physical surroundings O Urban Ecology O scientific study of the relation of living organisms with each other and their surroundings in the context of an urban environment.
