What is GPA? Your GPA is your grade point average. All semester grades a student has earned are given a point value. The points are added together and divided by the number of courses taken. Class Rank Class Rank is used for college admissions. It’s a comparison of you to your classmates. Class rank is determined by accumulated grade points, the total number earned throughout four years in high school. Grade points are assigned based on the chart on the next slide. The person in your class with the most grade points is number one in the class; the person with the least number is at the bottom of the list.
