Pathway Development PATHWAY ACTION TEAMS: Align curriculum Integrate inter-disciplinary career-themed course Develop age-appropriate work-based learning (WBL) sequences Agree on capstone courses with WBL component Identify dual & concurrent enrollment opportunities Build on-going Professional Learning Communities for pathway faculty & counselors (meet yearly)

Plans Shared student data Review use of 12 th grade and ensure effective “hand off” Dual & Concurrent Enrollment practices Administrators and faculty review existing practices Work with Pathway Action Teams to improve practices Adopt CATEMA as a shared on-line system for maintaining articulation agreements CCCLLI 2.0 as pilot

Career Connections (Workforce Intermediary) Create “Career Centers” at the Colleges (Peralta) Develop consistent definitions of work-based learning with industry Align industry advisory councils as possible Coordinate “asks” of business partners via a high- functioning intermediary platform Involve Chambers, WIBs and other business groups to assist in sub-regional relationship building Align with Launchpath and build other necessary infrastructure for scaling WBL and increasing job placements and success

AB 86 Adult Education Faculty Co-Chairs leading the work with their K-12 counterparts First report (of 3) – “Gap Analysis” - submitted and accepted by CCCCO on July 31. Next report – “Strategies to Address Gaps and Deliver and Align Services” – due October 31. September 18 th meeting at Merritt College to identify priorities and refine strategies Members’ Cabinet (Chancellor, College Presidents, and Superintendents meet October 9 th. CTE Committee Top Priorities Rebuild our capacity to help CTE students get jobs. Improve budget transparency and management. See memo Proposal to organize trainings (with purchasing) as well as an on-line “Handbook” Improve human resource processes for CTE. Improve procurement/purchasing processes for CTE. CTE Data. Access to information. The Committee would like to see greater access to information about grants, grant deadlines, grant reporting requirements.
