Commission on Teacher Credentialing Inspire, Educate, and Protect the Students of California DS Adult Education Teaching Credentials ♦ ♦Authorize the holder to: Teach specific academic and general subjects named on the credential in – – courses organized primarily for adults – – adult education programs administered by elementary and secondary school districts Serve as a substitute in courses organized primarily for adults for not more than 30 days for any one teacher during the school year 2

Commission on Teacher Credentialing Inspire, Educate, and Protect the Students of California DS Adult Education Experience for Three-Year Preliminary General Subjects Must have at least one year of work experience in each subject area Combinations of acceptable experience: Three years full-time experience in subject area 48 semester units postsecondary training in subject area plus one year experience Advanced industry certificate in subject area plus two years experience One year general education teaching experience plus two years experience 10

Commission on Teacher Credentialing Inspire, Educate, and Protect the Students of California Business and Industry Partnership Teacher (BIPT) ♦ ♦ Designed for individuals: whose skills are in high demand who may only want to teach for short time ♦ ♦ Authorization is not renewable and may not be issued for more than one school year ♦ ♦ Holders may subsequently apply for 3-year preliminary CTE credential 27
