By Alex Bonnifield, Brandon Ladley, Calvin Yun, Megan Donovan. Can We find a correlation Between temperature and Altitude?
2
There are many ways to calculate altitude, such as using an onboard barometer or geometrically calculating altitude by finding how far the balloon is from the central launch point. If we can find a constant correlation between altitude and temperature we could most likely find the altitude of an object if we know what the temperature of the surrounding air is at a given time.

Data

Results Spike Found that there wasn’t a Significant correlation between temperature and altitude. The factor contributing to negative results was simply the sun coming out and warming up the environment.
5
Conclusion Spike found that there was no significant correlation between temperature and altitude under these environmental conditions. If we were able to see any correlation it would have to be in a controlled environment or all of the data would have to be taken at each altitude at the same time.
