Copyright, Valiant Communications Limited 2000-2005 E1 Protection Switching Equipment PRODUCT OVERVIEW E1 Protection Switching System provides point to point 1+1 redundancy link support between any 2 independent E1 ports or 2 groups of E1 ports connected via higher order multiplexers. Each E1 redundancy switch (each E1 Switch card) supports one E1 link Upto 16, E1 links can be supported by a "pair" of E1 Protection Switching Systems. Two E1 Protection Switching Systems are required (one at each end of the link) for implementation of 1+1 redundancy solution. One E1 Protection Switching System must be configured as "Master" and installed at one end of the E1 link. The other E1 Protection Switching System must be configured as “Slave” and installed at the corresponding far end of the E1 link. Confidential Slide 2
