There are three major rules for reporting NS activity. 7030 Reports for AuxData

Rule #1: If you send an NS report to the gold side (discrepancy, verification or survey), you must also send a report to AuxData via a 7030 (Unit/Individual). 7030 Reports for AuxData

Rule #2: The boat’s 7030 reports all the crew time on the water – not your personal N.S. time. Do not put mission 30, 31 and 32 on the 7030 (Boat). If you do ATON work while on patrol, there are two different 7030 reports required: One for reporting Underway Patrol time. Underway Patrol time. And another for reporting: INDIVIDUAL AtoN ACTIVITY.

(2) separate and different 7030 Reports must be submitted if your AV effort was done on a PATROL If your AV effort was not on a patrol – You ONLY need to prepare one 7030 Report.

Important PATROL Any PATROL must be conducted on an operational facility, under official orders, and operated by a currently qualified coxswain and boat crew.

Select and enter the appropriate Mission Code(s). Select 30 – AtoN Mission to report time for Federal aid activity. Select 31 – AtoN Mission to report time for Private aid activity. Select 32 – AtoN Mission to report time for Bridge checking activity. Select 41 – Chart Updating to report time for Chart updating and NOAA #77-5 activity. 17 AV Annual Currency Requirements AVs must submit a minimum of two (2) valid NS reports per year to satisfy the currency requirements.
