Who am I? My name is Sarah Bruns. I am 24 years old and I live in Houston, Texas. I am currently a senior at the University of Houston and I am majoring in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Psychology. After I tell most people what my major is, they immediately look puzzled and ask me what it is and what will I do with it? This presentation will hopefully answer most of these questions. What is Human Development and Family Studies? HDFS is a bachelors of science program that looks at the social, physical, psychological, and emotional development of individuals and families (University of Houston). Why are early interventions necessary? It prepares children for future inclusion settings It allows children with special needs to get help before they start to show obvious need. Early Childhood Interventions Video This video is used for training individuals to work with the Head Start Program. Head Start: Is government funded Provides early intervention to children with special needs.
