Goals of Coordination ) Better Service ) More Efficient Use of Resources ) Enhanced Service
6
Framework for Action Community Self-Assessment
7
Framework for Community Transportation Assessment ) Transportation planners and providers need and want to know what you know about available services ) For effective transportation services, planners and providers need to have a shared vision with the community ) Community residents are partners in the visioning, planning, and implementation of the coordination process
8
Importance of Community Assessment ) Not a just another “needs” questionnaire ) Helps communities also see the assets or resources– the “big picture” ) Gives baseline information to everyone on the state-of-the-vision ) Helps communities to move forward with action planning
9
Community Transportation Assessment Ground Rules ) Make ratings independently. We’ll combine answers later ) There are no right or wrong answers ) For each question, the higher the number, the better the rating ) Review your ratings and make notes, especially where there are high or low ratings.
