“The meek” Give their best possessions (Gen 13:9-11) – Gen 13:14-17 Offer their sincere prayers (Num 12:1-13) – Num 12:13-16; 12:3 Pay their highest respect (1 Sam 24:1-15) – 2 Sam 5:12; 7:12-13

“The meek” Make their greatest effort (Jer 20:7-10) – Jer 32:7-8, 25, 36-44 Lay down their lives (Luke 23; 1 Pet 2:23) – Phil 2:9-10; Psa 2:8; Eph 1:20-21 – Matthew 11:28-29

“The meek” but the Lord was ‘meek’ because he had the infinite resources of God at His command W.E. Vine – The common assumption is that when a man is meek it is because he cannot help himself; but the Lord was ‘meek’ because he had the infinite resources of God at His command {cf. 1 Pet 2:23}. Meekness is the opposite to self-assertiveness & self-interest; it is a spirit that is neither elated nor cast down, simply because it is not occupied with self at all.

“The meek” “Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you I am meek and humble in heart Take My yoke upon you & learn from Me, for I am meek and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS” (Matt 11:29). We must be meek & humble to work with Him.
