3 Purple Sunday: The Start Began in Maryland as an African-American outreach initiative Purpose was to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and to promote early detection

4 Purple Sunday: The Start This year, 125 faith-based organizations across Maryland participated in the 5 th Annual Purple Sunday. The Alzheimer’s Association reached more than 165,000 people through this event.
