- algae scraped from rocks - sea lettuce - small dead animals lying about Reproduction -Reproduces in winter -Females can lay up to 36,000 eggs in mating season

-Lives in intertidal zones where its protected by rocky shorelines, bays and estuaries. -Can be found along the West coast as well as Alaska, Baja California and Mexico. Even though small, it will pinch very hard if disturbed or handled.

-Walking claws are hairless -They contribute to keeping beaches clean by scavenging -Does not live in burrows as some crabs do. They live under rocks and in cracks
