3. History
CPCC founded in 1963, in the Central High School building on Elizabeth Avenue.
One of the earliest of North Carolina’s 58 community colleges.
Opened with 23 degree and diploma programs.

In 1969, CPCC became a member of the prestigious League for Innovation in Community Colleges
