4. I dreamed I had an interview with God

5. “So you would like to interview me?” God asked

6. “If you have the time” I said

7. God smiled

8. “my time is eternity”

9. “What questions do you have in mind for me?”

11. “What surprises you most About humankind?…”

12. God answered…

14. “That they get bored With childhood

15. They rush to grow up and then “That they get bored With childhood

16. Long to be children again They rush to grow up and then

17. Long to be children again

19. That they lose their health to make money

20. And then lose their money To restore their health

21. That by thinking anxiously about the future,

22. They forget the present,

24. Such that they live neither in the present or the future.

27. That they live as if they will never die,

28. Then die as if they had never lived.” That they live as if they will never die,

29. Then die as if they had never lived.”

31. God’s hand took mine

32. And we were silent for awhile

33. And then I asked…

34. “As a parent, what are some of life’s Lessons you want your children to learn?”

35. God replied with a smile

37. “To learn that they cannot make anyone love them.

38. What they can do is let themselves be loved

41. To learn that it is not good to compare themselves to others.

42. To learn that a rich person is not the one who has the most,

43. But is the one who needs the least. To learn that a rich person is not the one who has the most,

44. But is the one who needs the least.

45. To learn that it only takes a few seconds to open profound wounds in a persons life,

46. And it takes many years to heal them

48. To learn to forgive by practicing forgiveness

49. To learn that there are persons who love them dearly,

50. But simply do not know how to express or show their feelings.

53. To learn that two people can look at the same thing and see it differently

55. To learn that it is not always enough that they be forgiven by others

56. But that they must forgive themselves.
