CORRESPONDENCE Email sent on 14th March 2014 from Birds Malawi Hi Has someone volunteered to locate the stork??? If not… Am going to Mzimba 2moro and could try could I have the coordinates to see how far it is from where I will be. Regards Tiwonge Email sent on 11th March 2014 Hello all For some of you I send this mail because you already kindly helped us in the past in retrieving white storks' transmitters in neighboring countries. As part of a study on survival and migration of young white storks (Ciconia ciconia), juveniles were fitted with GPS transmitters last summer in Germany. One stork with a GPS transmitter died 3 days ago in Malawi, 4.5 km from the border with Zambia. The location is easily accessible and it is near the village of Edingeni (we have the exact location). We ask for a collaboration in order to find the transmitter and the dead stork and ready to cover local travel cost. Do you know anyone who can help with this? Thanks Sincerely Shay

CORRESPONDENCE Email sent on 15th March 2014 from Birds Malawi Got it. Bird eaten by something. More when I get home. Tiwonge Email sent on 14th March 2014 from Hebrew University of Jerusalem Hello dear Tiwonge It will be great if you can look for the stork and the transmitter. The location is: -12.02729 / 33.34167 (lat / long), please see more details in the attached document. Note that you need to have an accurate GPS to get to the exact location in order to find the transmitter. Few people ask about the location but no one has actually volunteered to go yet. I cc Stacia who is involved in looking for volunteers. Please update if you can go for the search. Manny Thanks Shay Email sent on 15th March 2014 from Birds Malawi Got it. Bird eaten by something. More when I get home. Tiwonge
