Failure to maintain their oneness was a major cause of the first marriage failure. Gen 3:1-7

7
Principles that led to failure! 1) Satan undermined God’s authority by attacking the Divine institution of marriage and God’s prohibition. 2) Satan undermined Adam’s authority by attacking the woman. 3) Satan undermined individual authority by attacking their volition.
8
God’s principles of authority in regards to a marriage are found in 1 Cor 11:3-11.
9
Two are powerful when in the Right Man – Right Woman relationship ordained by God.
10
While most people cite various topics for failure in marriage they are merely describing symptoms and have not diagnosed the real issue, which is arrogance.
11
The Failure of the Woman It began with negative volition that led to being socially unfaithful, which led to total unfaithfulness.
12
The Problem of Boredom: If a woman does not have Bible Doctrine circulating in her soul she will soon become bored with the best or worst marriage.
13
The Problem of Resentment: When there is resentment of God, there is resentment of His authority and His delegated authority.
14
The Problem of Dissatisfaction: Arrogance fuels dissatisfaction, which then demands change and stimulates insubordination.
15
The Problem of Authority Orientation: A lack of A.O. leads to lust pattern stimulation. Gen 3:6; 1 John 2:16
16
God did two things to protect the woman and give her great happiness: 1) He gave her Bible Doctrine. 2) He gave her marriage. Marriage was designed to protect two people, not just one.
17
The Failure of the Man: It began with arrogance in the form of rejection of God’s delegated authority vested in him.
18
The Problem of Indifference: He allowed his wife to be negatively influenced and did not protect her soul by either halting the conversation or refuting the information she was receiving with Bible Doctrine.
19
Just as Jesus Christ is the Shepherd or Guardian of the believer's soul, so the husband is the shepherd and guardian of his wife's soul. 1 Pet 2:25 w/ 1 Pet 3:1
20
The Problem of Self Absorbed Arrogance: The lack of action on the man’s part shows he is more interested in himself than his relationship with God or his wife.
21
By not taking care of business at home, guarding and protecting her soul, the man allowed her to wander in the mentality of her soul followed by the wandering of her body.
22
The Problem of Avoiding Accountability: As long as men blame their wives, or anyone else, instead of their own volition, marriages fail.
23
Bad decisions are the result of bad thinking leading up to the decision, which results from a lack of or carelessness with the Word of God in your soul.
24
The Problem of Prosperity: Prosperity can easily distract a man from his relationship with God and his delegated authority.
25
Everyone in a successful marriage assumes the consequences of his own decisions. This is grace orientation plus spiritual adulthood.
26
Doctrinal inculcation and application is the secret to blessing in marriage because it changes self, Rom 12:2, not someone else. It also takes responsibility, tolerates the failures of others and appreciates their successes.
