4 SB 1305-Sharps Law Effective September 1, 2008 Added Home-Generated Sharps Waste Home-Generated Sharps are not Medical Waste Requires Special Handling and Disposal

5 Home-Generated Sharps Waste Disposal Ban Sharps Can’t be Placed in the Following Containers: Solid Waste, Recyclable Materials, and Greenwaste.

6 Enforcement Enforcement of This Law is Unclear and May Only be Done Through a Local Ordinance.

7 Disposal Options for Home-Generated Sharps Waste Household Hazardous Waste Facility, Sharps Consolidation Point, Medical Waste Generator Facility, or Mail-back Container.
