Rural Housing Data Portal Rural Housing Data Portal What is it? The Housing Assistance Council, in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, created a searchable database that combines many disparate data sources into one easily accessible database.

Rural Housing Data Portal Federally Collected Data Federal and government developed data is the foundation of the Rural Housing Data Portal. Government agencies collect and post a wealth of demographic and economic data. Yet much of this data is in disparate locations and often not user friendly.

Many definitions of “Rural.” The Data Portal provides information on several measures of rural – OMB Metropolitan, Micropolitan – Census Defined Urbanized Areas, etc).
