PARTS OF THE COMPUTER Grace Price 2 nd Grade

MONITOR The monitor is where the power button will be located. Once the monitor is on, the desktop, icons, and wallpaper will be displayed.

TOWER/CPU On the tower, there is also a power button. This is where CD or flash drives can be inserted.

KEYBOARD The keyboard contains different buttons for typing.

MOUSE The mouse is used to move the arrow shown on the monitor. Using the mouse, you can click on icons and programs located on the desktop of the monitor.

SPEAKERS These are used so that the sound from music or videos from the computer can be heard.

CD The round object is the CD. It is used to show different things on the computer when it is inserted.

FLASH DRIVE The flash drive is a long object with a silver top that can save and open files on it.

PRINTER This is used to print off papers or images created on or from computer programs. **Sometimes a printer can be a copy machine where papers that are already printed are duplicated.

INTERNET SAFETY Rule 1 : Do not give out personal information without your parents’ permission.

INTERNET SAFETY Rule 2 : Tell your parents or teacher if you see something that scares you or makes you feel uncomfortable.

INTERNET SAFETY Rule 3 : Do not give your passwords to anyone, even your friends, except your parents.

INTERNET SAFETY Rule 4 : Set up rules with your parents about when and where you can use the internet.

INTERNET SAFETY Rule 5 : Never plan to meet with a stranger and never tell one your location.

INTERNET SAFETY Rule 6 : Use the internet for fun and learning and not for anything that hurts others.
