The Start of the United Nations The Conference held at Yalta with Churchill and Stalin would hopefully for Franklin lead to an accord resulting in the U.N., a dedicated dream of his Roosevelt’s reason for heading towards Yalta was to create the United Nations in order to keep world peace

Fireside Chats The Fireside Chats was Franklin’s way of connecting with his people gaining their confidence He attracted wide audiences with his “cordial one-on-one conversations” This was a scenario whose purpose was to ask for moral commitment and confidence in one another

The Purpose of the New Deal The common purpose of all the new deal reforms was to end the Great Depression as well as to make America a little less risky for future generations. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation gave bank depositors confidence Reliable information was given to investors with the Securities and Exchange Commission

Effects Of The New Deal The Works Progress Administration (WPA) and the Public Works Administration (PWA) provided jobs for thousands of people Under these programs, dams, bridges, buildings, and other public works was built. The Tennessee Valley Authority had dams built to help control floods Dams also provided inexpensive electrical power and light to big and undeveloped areas

Contributions Still Seen Today Lend-Lease Act of 1941 continued in use, even after WWII. Many of his New Deals became permanent, such as the Social Security Acts The United Nations kept in tact, up to this day He established a foundation in Georgia to help other polio victims, and he directed what became the March of Dimes research program, which eventually funded the discovery of a vaccine to prevent polio.
