HEALTHCARE ENVIRONMENT STRATEGY
10
SANITIZER VS. DISINFECTANT A sanitizer is “used to reduce germs from surfaces but not totally get rid of them. Sanitizers reduce the germs from surfaces to levels that are considered safe.” (cdc.gov) Disinfectants are “chemical products that destroy or inactivate germs and prevent them from growing. Disinfectants have no effect on dirt, soil, or dust.” (cdc.gov) A disinfectant kills the listed pathogens when given the proper dwell time (up to 10 minutes.) H 2 Orange 2 Concentrate 117 and 118 are EPA registered sanitizer/virucide * /HBV **. *When used as directed Concentrate 117 ™ and 118 are EPA registered to kill Herpes Simplex Virus Type 2**, Influenza A2/Japan, HBV (Hepatitis B Virus)** and HIV-1 (Human Immunodeficiency Virus). **Except in California.
11
DISINFECTANT TRADE-OFF Conventional disinfectants... Leave sticky residues on surfaces. Unnecessary toxicity to people. Damaging to environment.
12
THE FINE PRINT For a disinfectant to work it has two requirements: 1. The surface must be cleaned. The only way to know if a surface is truly clean is to clean it. 2. The product must have up to 10 minutes of dwell time.
13
BEST PRACTICES The CDC reports that cleaning non critical areas is sufficient and disinfection of non critical areas is often not necessary.
14
A BETTER WAY: ENVIROX STABILIZED HYDROGEN PEROXIDE CLEANING TECHNOLOGY
15
THE HEALTHY WAY: SAFETY-SIMPLICITY-SAVINGS 1 product. 2 dilutions. 95% of general cleaning.
16
GREEN DISINFECTING EnvirOx Critical Care HMIS: 0,0,0. Kills MRSA in 2 minutes.
17
THE RESULTS Bacteria and viruses have nowhere to grow. No need to use harsh disinfectants. Schools have reported attendance improvements. With a healthier environment, the people who work in and visit our facilities are safer.
