Park Significance Mammoth Cave National Park Your Park’s EMS should start with 3-5 goals that are simple and achievable. As you succeed and become comfortable working with the EMS add additional and more difficult goals.

Mammoth Cave National Park FY 2011 EMS GOALS 1.CLIMATE FRIENDLY PARK 2.CONTIUE IMPLEMENTATION OF PARK INTEGRATED SOLID WASTE ALTERNATIVES PROGRAM (ISWAP) & RECYCLING 3.HAZARDOUS MATERIALS PROGRAM 4.ELECTRIC ENERGY USE 5.OUTREACH AND EDUCATION 6.INCORPORATE CONCESSIONERS ACTIVITIES INTO PARK GOALS WHERE PRACTICAL 7.EVALUATE USE OF ALTERNATIVE FUELS IN THE PARK VEHICLE FLEET 8.INTEGRATE ENVIRONMENTAL LEADERSHIP INTO MAJOR IMPROVEMENT TO PARK INFRASTRUCTURE 9.WATER CONSERVATION AND WATER QUALITY

When possible work with partners, groups, and individuals to advance your EMS. Our concessionaire, Forever Resorts, partners with us in all recycling activities. They also promote sustainable practices such as using products made from recycled cardboard and corn starch for carryout food & beverage service.

Cardboard Compactor Maintained By Forever Resorts This partnership results in over 30 tons of cardboard being recycled each year.

Plastics Bailer Maintained by Mammoth Cave National Park is used by both to recycle over 2 tons of plastic annually
