What do possessive adjectives do? They describe ownership. They describe relationships between people or things.

How are they used in English? Examples: –My sister –Your sweater –Her coat –Our parents –Their brother

Los adjetivos posesivos mi - my tu – your (familiar) su (his, her, your-formal) nuestro - our vuestro – your (plural, spain) su – their, your (plural)

Possessive Adjective Rule#1 All Possessive Adjectives can be made plural. They all match the noun in number. (Add an “s” to the poss. adj. and the noun to make it plural.) –Examples: My sister Mi hermana s My sisters Mis hermanas His t-shirt Su camiseta His t-shirts Sus camisetas Our child Nuestro hijo Our children Nuestros hijos

Possessive Adjective Rule #2 nuestro (our) and vuestro (your – Spain only) must agree in number and gender! –Examples: Nuestro abuelo : Our grandfather Nuestros abuelos : Our grandparents Nuestra abuela : Our grandmother Nuestras abuelas : Our grandmothers
