5. Organizational Partners 3GPP is open to all national/regional Standards Development Organizations irrespective of their geographical location (Organizational Partners). The following are the current OPs in 3GPP: CWTS

6. Organizational Partners The Organizational Partner have met twice since the project began. Discussion takes place electronically between meetings. The OP meetings have no elected officials. The chairmanship is the responsibility of the meeting host. Delegations from the OPs have a nominated Head. Karl Heinz Rosenbrock heads the ETSI delegation.

7. Market Representational Partners 3GPP is open to all organizations that can offer market advice and a consensus view of market requirements (Market Representation Partners). The following are the current MRPs in 3GPP:

12. Technical Specification Groups The TSGs meet in series/parallel (TSGs CN, RAN, T in parallel followed by TSG SA). They will now meet four times per year in March, June, September and December. They have the authority to approve their own specifications. TSG SA undertakes a co-ordination role across all TSGs.

17. TSG Leadership Positions TSGs elect their own officials which are endorsed by the PCG. This two step process prevents any unacceptable imbalance. TSG Chairmen and Vice Chairmen are appointed for a two year term of office. The latest leadership positions are given in the following table.

22. 3GPP Funding Agreement now reached between all OPs for year 2000 funding. OPs will contribute according to an agreed formula. Half of the budget will be found by equal division among the OPs, the other half will be found in proportion to the number of Individual Members. Contribution may be by financial or human resources.
