Unit 9 Bonus Question A farmer has a goat and he is trying to decide where to allow him to graze. Option 1: He can be tethered to the side of a square 10ft by 10ft shed. The tethering rope is 18 feet long and tied to a post in the middle of one of the sides. Option 2: A 14 feet by 17 feet rectangular fenced in area. He has a rhombus shaped shed in the middle of the fence that has a diagonal length of 4 feet and 3 feet that the goat will not be allowed to enter. Which option should the farmer choose so the goat will have more area to graze? Provide mathematical reasoning behind your answer.
