 The biome that I picked is mountains. In the Himalayan mountains of Asia it tends to be below zero degrees.(Fahrenheit) It basically only has one habitat. It pretty much is a freezing cold tundra with steep cliffs. There aren’t that many animals who live here, but the ones that do include, snow leopards, the golden eagle, and even red pandas!!! Plus a few more. The Biome

Although the Himalayas seem to be very beautiful, it doesn’t have as many details as people believe; but in those few details are the habitats of a few animals that can with stand that environment. Some miss inceptions are that although all the snow, water is pretty scarce. It basically it only has one habitat. Which includes steep cliffs, high elevation, below freezing temperatures, and in the spring some small patches of flowered meadows. The Ecosystem

 The rhododendron blossoms in the spring time in the alpine regions of the Himalayas. This flower has many species, but the most commonly found is the Rhododendron campanulata. It is a very exotic flower that usually comes in pink or a dark red. Some of its predators include, tahr, blue sheep, and gazelles. Sadly unlike other plants that grow in these mountains, this flower has no way to defend itself. This flower is also well populated around southern Asia. The rhododendron is a simple little flower and scientist pretty much figured out. Rhododendron

The tahr are odd looking animals, and are relatives to goats. This odd ball lives in the rugged mountain slopes of the Himalayan mountains. A special adaptation it has is its small head and it horns that are combed back. This prevents brain damage when bumping heads during mating season. This is a herbivore and eats things like shrubs and rhododendrons. There are so many of these that they are considered pest in most places.as young they kind of look like a goat deer hybrid. They also communicate by clicking their hooves on the dirt. predators includes snow leopards and large tigers. Tahr

A snow leopard has the longest tail on a feline in the world!!!!it is a very large animal that has big eyes that are like a blue gray, a white coat with various black spots, and short pointed ears. Snow leopards are carnivores and eat mountain goats, blue sheep, and tahr. The large tail helps it keep balance when dashing for prey. They like living in those small patches of flowers that grow in the himalayas.it has four large fangs it uses to tear prey apart. They are endangered but people have made a great contribution to save these animals. Unlike other large cats this animal doesn’t roar it makes a loud yipping sort of noise. Snow Leopards

As you can see above the arrows represent the energy as it is passed on through each organism and is recycled by decomposers. The diagram
