4 Once upon a time, there was a lovely village

5 With a lovely commons where the sheep grazed...

6 Happily... and produced happy wool. And the village was happy.

7 And happy sheep made great wool.

8 But as more and more sheep joined the commons

14 What did the villagers miss? The villagers should have known that the “Commons” was a common resource. Common resources are always subject to overuse--people (and sheep) are, after all,MAXIMIZERS.

15 So what does this all mean… The commons is resources that are owned in common or shared between or among communities populations. The local commons is a resource that is shared on a local level like an aquifer that is providing water to the town The global commons is a resource that is shared on a global level, like the fish in the sea.
