LESSONS LEARNED 1.BC lacks a dedicated central alert system. 2.Lead authority (fed/prov/reg) not identified. 3.Current regulations and policies are inadequate for rapid response and remediation. 4.Impossible to predict all vectors of invasion. 5.Clean and disinfect your water bomber after each use!

WHAT’S BEING DONE? 1.Federally, the Canada Fisheries Act is being amended to include new provisions and authorities for AIS control. 2.Provincially, the BC Wildlife Act is being reviewed and AIS priority issues will be identified. 3.Both Canada and BC are collaborating on priority AIS Risk Assessments through a central agency (CEARA).
