5 Oral & CAV Assessments

6 is appointed 30 April (P.3) / 6 or 7 May (P.6) AM schools: 9:00 am to 1:00 pm PM schools: 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm Whole-day schools: 9:00 am – 3:30 pm To be received by the Assessment Administration Supervisor (AAS) Keep the box INTACT Delivery of Assessment Materials

7 Call HKEAA if: 1. the courier pack is damaged 2. materials have not arrived during the specified time Delivery of Assessment Materials

8 If EDB announces that schools are to be closed due to bad weather or whatever reasons, the delivery will be postponed to 3 May (P.3) / 10 May (P.6) Delivery of Assessment Materials

9 Remind the students to bring their student handbooks on the assessment day Prepare 3 sets of student list for each class with Chinese names, English names and class numbers of all students for each pair or Oral Examiners and AAA for attendance taking Pre-assessment Preparation

10 Checklist for AAS Irregularity Report AAA’s Attendance Record 1 copy of bilingual Instructions for NCS students taking CAV AAS’s Working File NEW

11 1 copy of bilingual (Chinese and English) instructions for CAV paper will be provided to all schools AAS can photocopy the instructions for use by any WS1 student if selected Support to NCS Students in CAV

13 Two special VCDs with all questions and options read aloud, for CAV will be provided to schools with WS1 students For NCS students ONLY. Schools MAY choose to use the special VCD or not. If they choose to do so, the NCS students will have to take the assessment separately in another classroom or computer room Support to NCS in CAV NEW

14 All WS0, WS3-WS7 students are not included in the Student Sample List If these students are still found on the Student Sample List, AAS can replace them with the students on reserve and report to the Oral Examiners via AAA The Student Sample List is generated from the school data submitted as at 16 Mar 2010 Student Sample List

15 Start from the lowest class no. along the appropriate column ( 後備 ) * WS1 students should participate in the Chinese Oral & CAV Assessments if selected

16 All schools to start at 8:45 am / 1:45 pm (with 15 minutes flexibility) Conduct CAV Assessment first and then Chinese and English Oral Assessments in parallel Time of Assessment

18 If EDB announces that schools are to be closed in the morning: 7 May (P.3) / 14 May (P.6) All assessments of the day will be rescheduled to 7 May (P.3) / 14 May (P.6) Collection of assessment materials will be postponed to 10 May (P.3) / 17 May (P.6) Contingency Arrangement

19 If EDB announces schools are to be closed in the afternoon: The PM assessments of the day will be rescheduled to 7 May (P.3) / 14 May (P.6) the PM of 7 May (P.3) / 14 May (P.6) Collection of assessment materials will be postponed to 10 May (P.3) / 17 May (P.6) Contingency Arrangement (1)

20 For preventing the outbreak of flu: Students attending the Oral Assessment may put on masks during the assessment If necessary, Oral Examiners should remind students wearing masks to speak louder Contingency Arrangements (2) NEW

21 In case of closure of individual schools on the assessment day, the assessments at these schools will be canceled In case of closure of all schools in Hong Kong on the assessment day, the HKEAA will announce the supplementary arrangements in due course Contingency Arrangements (3) NEW
