5. We think that the gases in the coke and in the mentos will build up and then explode. Mentos have tiny little bumps on the out-side shell and when it hits the diet coke the Co2 goes into the bumps and produces gases which builds up and ultimately has to release the gas. We think it will work and explode. We think the more Mentos the less coke left in the explosion. 4 DO SHAKE THE BOTTLE if want a great result!

6. 1.Gather the equipment (reference – page 3) 2.Set bottles in an up-right position 3.Position camera or camera man/woman. If needed 4.Open the bottle lid 5.Count Down from 5 6.Insert Mentos without tipping the bottle over. 7.Run away fast – 5 metres approx away 8.Watch and enjoy the explosion while eating Mentos (optional) 9.Measure how much is left and record. 5

8. In conclusion the more mentos we put in it the more diet coke came out of the bottle and the bigger the explosion and less was left in the bottle. To get the best results get a 2Litre bottle of coke
