Introducing yourself Slide 3 | Part 1 Exploit the picture with sts (this is a great opportunity to check the English words they already know); tell them that Carla and Pedro don’t know each other (use gestures to convey meaning), so they are introducing themselves; introduce yourself to a couple of sts and shake hands with them; before clicking to reveal the dialogue, act it out (playing both parts): CarlaHi, I’m Carla. Slide 3| Part 2 Drill each line of the dialogue and make sure sts have grasped their meaning; click to make parts of the dialogue disappear and challenge sts to repeat the lines without help; repeat procedures three more times; split class into two groups and carry out a quick drill, each group repeating one of the characters’ lines; have groups swap roles. Click to reveal a mapped dialogue and have a pair perform it for the whole class as a model; Then ask sts to sand up and introduce themselves to their classmates.
