From their seats, each team member must yell how much their meal cost. Every student must stay in their seat(except the birthday student) and they must speak slowly and clearly. The birthday student will add all the meals together, add the sales tax, and add a tip. The first team to complete the exercise correctly, will earn 5 points for their team. It’s my birthday! Your team is going to dinner to celebrate the birthday of one of your team members. Fortunately, he has decided to pay for everybody but unfortunately, the restaurant’s cash(calculator) is broken. So, the birthday student must add all the meals together, calculate the sales tax, and add a tip.

GAMETips To be successful, follow some of these tips. Say the number quickly and clearly. If the birthday student does not understand, repeat the number slowly. It’s better to say the number slowly and correctly than faster and incorrectly. If the math is not correct, the birthday student probably misunderstood a number incorrectly. The birthday student should ask the other students on the team to repeat. If it is not your turn, be quiet! It can be difficult to hear when too many people are talking.
