Daisy, an African Elephant , and George, an Asian Elephant, cross-breed. Daisy (HH) has big ears, and George (hh) has small ears. What percentage of their babies will have small ears? What percentage of their babies will have big ears? Isabelle Murphy Science project Period 1

2 How to set up the Punnett Square
George X Daisy hh HH H H h Dominant= large ears (HH) Recessive= small ears (hh) Genotype Box 1) Create 2 tables that has 4 equal boxes inside of them. 2) Put Daisy’s genes (HH) on the top of the Punnett Square Phenotype Box 3) Put George’s genes (hh) on the left side of the Punnett Square

3 How to solve your Punnett Square
Phenotype Genotype Small ears hh Big ears HH H H h Hh Hh Hh Hh Multiply the top letters by the left side letters and then write them down in each box DO NOT forget the dominant traits comes first then the recessive traits

4 The Results!!!!!!!! Phenotype Results
The percentage that George and Daisy’s baby will have big ears is 100%. There is a 0% chance that the baby will have small ears. Genotype Results The percentage that George and Daisy’s baby will have Hh for a genetic code is 100%.
