6A:9-15 Required Professional development for teachers (a) Each active teacher shall be required to complete 100 clock hours of State-approved continuing professional development and/or inservice every five years.... (b) The content of each teacher’s continuing education shall be specified in a Professional Development Plan (PDP) (c) The content of each teacher’s continuing education shall align with the Professional Development Standards for Teachers (d) The activities in each teacher’s Professional Development Plan shall align with the Professional Development Standards for Teachers as follows

INDEPENDENT STUDY REQUIREMENTS F The PDP must include a rationale describing consistency with the standards F The individual and supervisor must discuss the projected number of hours to be spent F The individual must maintain a log of hours completed

6A:32-4.5 Evaluation of Tenured Teaching Staff Members (f) The annual written performance report … shall include, but not be limited to: 1. Performance areas of strength; 2. Performance areas needing improvement based upon the job description; 3. An individual professional development plan developed by the supervisor and the teaching staff member; 4. A summary of available indicators of pupil progress and growth …

Evaluation of Tenured Teaching Staff Members (h) For the purpose of this section 3. “ Individual professional development plan” is a written statement of actions developed by the supervisor and the teaching staff member to correct deficiencies or to continue professional growth, timelines for their implementation, and the responsibilities of the individual teaching staff member and the district for implementing the plan;
