The Researcher contacts CYSTAT. The Researcher discusses project requirements such as variable availability, period(s) of reference, etc, with the Officer responsible for the Survey. The Researcher is directed to the application form on the website orwebsite to a member of the Internal Confidentiality Committee (ICC) for further information on the the application and incurring costs. The ICC consists of four members, each coming from a different statistical domain and acts as an advisory board to the Director of CYSTAT. The application can be submitted via post, email or fax. When an application is incomplete, the applicant is contacted to resubmit. When the application is complete, the ICC is called to convene within the coming working days (if not possible within the same). The ICC gives an documented recommendation to the Director including costs. The Director can approve or disapprove the recommendation. A written reply is also sent to the applicant, either by post or by email, depending on the initial means of communication preferred by the applicant. The Officer responsible for survey, gets the green light to prepare the dataset and inform the researcher when to receive it. Micro datasets are provided either in CDs or sent by e-mail. In all datasets, direct identifiers such as names, addresses and telephone numbers of the reporting units are removed.
