2 Ethnicity Categories Hispanic or Latino Not Hispanic or Latino
The two ethnic categories as revised by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) are defined as follows.

3 Hispanic or Latino A person of Cuban, Mexican, Puerto Rican, South or Central American, Spanish culture or origin, regardless of race. The term “Spanish origin” can be used in addition to “Hispanic” or “Latino.” South America Argentina Bolivia Brazil Chile Colombia Ecuador Guyana  Paraguay Peru Suriname Uruguay Venezuela Galapagos Islands Falkland Islands French Guiana Central America Belize Costa Rica El Salvador Guatemala Honduras Nicaragua Panama Jamaica

4 Not Hispanic or Latino NOT A person

6 White Europe Albania Andorra Armenia Austria Azerbaijan Belgium Bosnia Bulgaria Croatia Czech Repub Estonia Finland Georgia Iceland Italy Lithuania Portugal Romania Serbia/ Sweden Slovenia Ukraine Middle East Afghanistan Bahrain Iran Iraq Israel Jordan Kuwait Lebanon Saudi Arabia Syria Turkey Yemen  North Africa Algeria Canary Islands Egypt Libya Portugal Portuguese Madeira Islands Sudan Tunisia Western Sahara A person having origins in any of the original peoples of Europe, the Middle East or North Africa.

7 Black or African American
Algeria  Burundi Cameroon Chad Congo Eritrea Ethiopia Guinea Haitan Kenya Liberia Madagascar Nigeria Ruwanda Zambia Zimbabwe A person having origins in any of the black racial groups of Africa. Terms such as “Haitian” or “Negro” can be used in addition to “Black” or “African American.”

9 Mexican or American Indian or Alaska Native
A person having origins in any of the original peoples of North and South America (including Central America), and Who maintains tribal affiliation or community attachment.
