3
The good points of the rainforest Without it we would not be able to live because trees make oxygen so we can breath. Trees provide life for us and for animals. Trees and plants provide cures for cancer and other disease so people can live. Without them it would be almost impossible to find cures. People with no home can go and live in the rainforest
4
The bad points of the rainforest It takes up a lot of room so it could be a waste of space in that sense. Animals and plants in the forests can be deadly and so it is bad having people living there who might die.
5
What will happen The rainforest will probably be like this. People will try to stop others destroying the forest but some people will take it down without permission.
6
How we can prevent the number of trees being cut down in a year We can try to prevent the cutting down of tree by: Stop people cutting it down Make new law to stop people cutting it down Make a jail sentence for cutting them down with permission.
7
The wild life in the rainforest Only 10% of animals survive being smuggled to collectors abroad There are load of species in the rainforest that have not been found but are all ready extinct by the cutting down of the rainforest
8
An Environmentalists view on: The good points of the rainforest (slide 9) The bad points of the rainforest (slide 10) The future of the rainforest (slide 11) How we can prevent the number of trees being cut down in a year (slide 12)
9
Environmentalists view the good points of the rainforest It provides a lot of green pasture for wild life to live A whole host of animals live in the rainforest. forest plants, animals and people depend upon the forest. Many animals would be extinct if it wasn’t for the rainforest The Amazon is one of the richest areas of the world in animal and plant diversity. There can be more plant species in one hectare of Amazon rainforest than there are in all of Europe
10
Environmentalists view the bad points of the rainforest Population is growing and need to clear more forest so they can grow crops and make reservoirs to provide water
11
Environmentalists view the future of the rainforest Since the 1970s, an area of ancient rainforest the size of France has been lost We need to replant the rainforest. Forest absorb carbon dioxide and give off oxygen so with out the forest world temperatures rises through lack of oxygen
12
Environmentalists view how we can prevent the number of trees being cut down in a year You have to use sustainable forestry. Only take a few mature trees Replant saplings to replace every tree you cut down Cut down young trees carefully but leave plenty to grow Plan your cutting so that hunting and farming can still carry one because the environment is unharmed
13
Who fault it is Is it all our fault? Animals have always died out naturally, the Dinosaurs were around for millions of years before they became extinct. BUT conservationists reckon animals are now becoming extinct up to 10,000 times faster than they would do if there were no humans around. But the our growing population and interference with our environment mean the process of extinction's getting faster. Our world is changing faster than some species can adapt.
