What About The Shingle Banks… Many small caves are found at sea level making this beach popular with snorkelers. Marsalforn and Shingle Beach are two other shingle banks in the Maltese Islands. The picture below shows Ħondoq ir- Rummien, one of the very few shingle banks.

…And The Cliffs? Dingli cliffs These cliffs are the highest point of Malta. (300 m high). The Maltese Falcon once used to breed here. This species is now extinct on the Maltese Islands.

The Maltese coastline is 272m long. There are no mud flats. We have very few shingle banks. Cliffs are even found on the island on the three hills (Gozo).
