Pandas are black and white fur coated. Pandas have big heads and rounded ears. They can weigh up to 300 pounds. They have short tails, and short claws. They are 6 feet long. A new born Panda is not bigger than a stick of butter.

Pandas live alone. They are good tree climbers and good swimmers. They share food with other pandas. Pandas spend all day looking for food. They talk by making noises/deep roars, growls and barks.

Pandas live high up in the cold forests of Central China. They live in the wild. They live in groves or rock dens outside in the open air. They don’t live anywhere else in the world.

Pandas eat bamboo and drink water. Pandas have to eat 20-40 pounds of bamboo each day to stay alive. It takes 10-16 hours a day to find and eat all of it.

Pandas are becoming extinct, there are only 1,600 living in the wild. Pandas are pink when they are born, their color comes from their mother’s saliva. Pandas learn by playing.
