536_fortney_concept Project Playground Project Description Problem statement: –Elementary school students need organizational skills to successfully complete projects. –Most available resources focus on topics, not on task and time management. Project Playground will aim to teach children basic project management skills.

536_fortney_concept Project Playground Project Objectives Learners will be able to: –Distinguish projects from other homework assignments. –Select a project topic. –Create a task list for a project. –Create a timeline for tasks. –Find information. –Create a high quality project product

536_fortney_concept Project Playground Design Metaphor Site will be organized using a playground metaphor. Home page provides hot spot playground images to access content. Images will be carried forward to pages to indicate location within the site.

536_fortney_concept Project Playground Learning Activities “What is a project” – multiple choice of examples and non-examples Project task sequencing drag and drop. Project materials selection exercise. Poster creation exercise. Knowledge transfer challenge – What other activities involve projects? (e.g. Scout badges)
