7. The PLAYground is a transmedia learning platform for the curation, creation and circulation of user- generated activities that encourages co- learning among adults and youth. It is designed to cultivate and promote learning activities through “challenges”. 9. Playing is not always about just solving a specific problem. How do you experiment in your everyday life? What are some of your favorite ways of playing that use experimentation? Why Play? For problem-solving, play can be a really useful way to find and test new ideas. Nathan Sawaya is a “Brick Artist” who played with Legos as a child, but it wasn’t until after college that he used Legos to create meaningful art pieces. In talking about his process he said, “I sketch out almost all my projects. I like to have an idea of what the finished sculpture will look like before I start building.” The New Media Literacy, PLAY, is the ability to experiment with your surroundings toward a form of problem- solving.
