EQUAL-PLAY PLAYGROUND Manatee High School Key Club

Who We Are: Manatee High School Key Club High school community service organization. Over 100 members that perform over 8,000 community service hours each year. Every year we organize/build one large-scale project to help better the community.

Addressing the Need Wheelchair accessible playground, especially at Riverwalk. Children with physical disabilities would be able to play on the playground equipment with non-physically disabled children and family members. Parents with physical disabilities would be able to play with their children on the playground.

Playground Location Adjacent to the current playground at the Riverwalk.

Features Ship Design Wheelchair Accessible “Equal-Play” Playground Movement 70 Square Feet of Deck Space Cohesive with Current Playground (Colors)

Costs for Us Our club is fundraising 100% of the money for the: Equipment Labor Rubber Surface Installation $35,000

Costs for the City Maintenance -after warranties expire 8 years for rubber surface. 12 years for actual playground. -very minimal $0 for the first 8 years

Conclusion Riverwalk needs a wheelchair accessible playground. MHS Key Club can make that happen.
