Children will bring their book bags home every day. Reading - children are asked to read at least three times a week. We ask parents to hear their child read and check their understanding of what they have read. This information should be recorded in the child’s reading diary. Children may change their home readers as soon as they have finished them. We will encourage children to write a short review of the book they have just read. They will be reading their Guided books at a more challenging level in school with the class teacher so the home readers are there for them to practise and enjoy. Extra support or extension work will be given to children within school, as appropriate to their current learning needs. READING

All children are encouraged to spend time learning their multiplication tables. Parents are asked to recap tables focus learnt in school noted on the class letter. Homework will be sent out home once every half term. It will either be Topic, Literacy or Maths based.
