For most children over 6 months of age the American Academy of Pediatrics recommend SPF 15-30 and reapplication every 1.5 to 2 hours depending on conditions. They also recommend choosing a sunscreen that protects against UVA and UVB. Children under 6 months of age should not be exposed to direct sunlight.
