5. 2 girdles A girdle is a collection of bones that attach to the axial skeleton 1. Upper Extremity or Pectoral Girdle: consists of the clavicle and scapula – Connects at the sternoclavicular joint (clavicle and menubrium) 2. Lower Extremity or Pelvic Girdle: consists of illium (hip), ischium (butt), and the pubic bone – Joins to make the acetabulum
