2. Background Gum was first made from sap off of the sapodilla tree. Also known as chicle. Mayans chewed it. The ancient Greeks chewed Mastiche.

4. Natural Gum The natural chewing gum came from a gummy substance names Mastiche that came from the mastic (to chew) tree. The flavor of this tree is slightly smoky. Less sticky; more flexible.

5. Bubble Gum Bubble gum is chewing gum specially designed for blowing bubbles. The first bubble gum formulation was made in 1906, by Frank Fleer.
